Pupuk Indonesia and Soppeng Regency Government Urge Farmers to Optimize Redemption of Subsidized Fertilizer

PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero), in collaboration with the Soppeng Regency Government, is encouraging farmers to optimize the redemption of subsidized fertilizer through the “Rembuk Tani dan Tebus Bersama” (Farmers’ Dialogue and Joint Redemption) initiative, held at the Official Residence Hall of the Soppeng Regent in South Sulawesi.
The event aims to accelerate the absorption and optimize the distribution of subsidized fertilizer in the South Sulawesi region and successfully recorded the redemption of 140 tons of subsidized fertilizer by registered farmers in just one day.
Wisnu Ramadhani, General Manager of Regional 4 at PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero), stated that synergy with local governments is key to ensuring smooth fertilizer distribution. He emphasized the importance of fertilizer redemption by farmers to support the national food security program.
“We want to ensure that every registered farmer can easily access their right to subsidized fertilizer. There is still allocation that we need to optimize together, and we don’t want any farmers to be left behind,” said Wisnu.
The “Rembuk Tani dan Tebus Bersama” event was organized through collaboration between Pupuk Indonesia, the Soppeng Regency Government, and the Indonesian Fertilizer Distributors Association (ADPI). It was attended by around 200 participants, including farmers, kiosk owners, agricultural extension workers, and local stakeholders. The event served as a strategic platform for dialogue, gathering input, and ensuring registered farmers can make full use of their subsidized fertilizer allocations.
During the event, Wisnu noted that farmer enthusiasm was very high. The total amount of subsidized fertilizer redeemed reached 140 tons, consisting of 76.25 tons of Urea, 69.47 tons of NPK Phonska, and 3.35 tons of Special Formula NPK for Cocoa. These figures reflect a strong response from farmers toward efforts to optimize the redemption of subsidized fertilizer.
“We highly appreciate Soppeng Regency, which ranks as the second most active area in South Sulawesi in the use of the Farmers Card, after Pinrang. This is concrete proof of the strong synergy among farmers here. Moving forward, we will continue to strengthen productivity efforts,” he added.
On the same occasion, Soppeng Regent Suwardi Haseng welcomed the initiative by Pupuk Indonesia. According to him, fertilizer availability is a crucial factor in increasing agricultural productivity, which serves as the backbone of Soppeng’s economy.
“The Soppeng Regency Government is fully committed to ensuring the smooth distribution of subsidized fertilizer down to the farmer level. Synergy between the local government, Pupuk Indonesia, and distribution business actors like today is key to ensuring that our farmers can produce optimally. Ultimately, this will improve their welfare and strengthen our regional food security,” the Regent asserted.
Pupuk Indonesia will continue to hold “Rembuk Tani dan Tebus Bersama” activities in various regencies and cities under Regional 4’s coverage. This effort is aimed at ensuring that the distribution of subsidized fertilizer is well-targeted and supports the national agricultural productivity goals.
