In an effort to support increased harvest yields, PT Pupuk Indonesia invited hundreds of farmers in Wajo Regency, South Sulawesi, to redeem subsidized fertilizer through the “Rembuk Tani dan Tebus Bersama” (Farmers’ Gathering and Joint Redemption) event held at the Wajo Regent’s Office.

The General Manager of Regional 4 PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero), Wisnu Ramadhani, stated that the “Rembuk Tani dan Tebus Bersama” event successfully engaged 750 farmers and stakeholders, and recorded the redemption of 114.4 tons of subsidized fertilizer.

Wisnu expressed his appreciation for the progress made in Wajo but encouraged further optimization of fertilizer absorption to reach the national average and fully utilize the available allocation.

“We see incredible enthusiasm from the farmers in Wajo. The progress in fertilizer redemption has been quite good, but we believe there is still untapped potential. Many of our registered farmers have not yet redeemed their allocations. Every registered farmer is entitled to subsidized fertilizer, and it is our duty to ensure they receive full support. Let us make the best use of the available allocation,” said Wisnu.

On the same occasion, Wajo Regent Andi Rosman welcomed the initiative and linked it to the improvement of agricultural yields in his region. According to him, effective synergy in fertilizer distribution is one of the key pillars of success in the agricultural sector.

“Alhamdulillah, this year Wajo has seen an increase in harvest yields. This success didn’t come overnight; it is the result of strong synergy. When fertilizer is available and farmers are motivated, the results are tangible. Today’s event strengthens that collaborative foundation to ensure Wajo continues to contribute to food sovereignty, especially in South Sulawesi,” said Regent Andi Rosman.

This strategic forum served as a direct bridge connecting farmers, kiosk owners, agricultural extension workers, local government officials, and the Indonesian Fertilizer Distributors Association (ADPI). PT Pupuk Indonesia took a proactive approach to identify challenges and accelerate solutions related to the distribution and absorption of subsidized fertilizers.

Participants' enthusiasm was reflected in the significant redemption figures. A total of 137 tons of fertilizer—comprising 62.9 tons of Urea, 72.8 tons of NPK Phonska, and 1.4 tons of NPK FK Cocoa—were redeemed in a single day. This figure is concrete evidence of farmers’ positive response to the improved access to fertilizers.

Pupuk Indonesia will continue to organize “Rembuk Tani dan Tebus Bersama” events in various regencies/cities under the responsibility of Regional 4. This initiative aims to ensure the proper distribution of subsidized fertilizers and support the national target of increasing agricultural productivity.
