Jakarta, June 7, 2025 – Pupuk Indonesia Group distributed a total of 346 sacrificial animals to 67,988 beneficiaries living around the company’s operational areas. This initiative was carried out in celebration of the Eid al-Adha 1446 H.

The symbolic handover of the sacrificial animals was conducted directly by Junianto Simare Mare, SVP of Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) at PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero), in Jakarta, on Tuesday (June 3, 2025).

Pupuk Indonesia’s VP of Corporate Communication, Cindy Systiarani, stated that the distribution of sacrificial animals by the Pupuk Indonesia Group to the surrounding communities is part of the company’s Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program. The sacrificial animals also represent the company’s gratitude, as the success of Pupuk Indonesia Group in distributing subsidized fertilizers to support national food self-sufficiency cannot be separated from the support of the community.

"The presence of the company in various regions across Indonesia must bring tangible benefits to the local people. Through this initiative, Pupuk Indonesia Group seeks to be present among communities, including during the Eid al-Adha celebration, as a form of care and solidarity," said Cindy.

The hundreds of sacrificial animals consisted of 185 cows and 161 goats. Pupuk Indonesia itself distributed 12 cows and 4 goats through local sacrificial committees in Jakarta, Garut, Indramayu, Magelang, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), and Lampung.

Additionally, the Association of Wives of Pupuk Indonesia Employees (PIKA PI) contributed 14 goats for distribution in Jakarta. The Zakat Collection Unit (UPZ) of the National Zakat Agency (Baznas) at Pupuk Indonesia also distributed 9 cows and 11 goats to beneficiaries in Bandung, Central Java, and Karawang.

Members of Pupuk Indonesia’s holding group also contributed to the distribution, including Petrokimia Gresik, which provided 25 cows and 100 goats for the communities in Gresik, Surabaya, Lamongan, and Jombang. Pupuk Kujang distributed 29 cows and 6 goats in the Cikampek and Karawang areas.

Meanwhile, Pupuk Kalimantan Timur distributed 38 cows in Bontang and Papua, and Pupuk Iskandar Muda distributed 28 cows in North Aceh, Lhokseumawe, and Bireuen. Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang provided 38 cows and 22 goats for Palembang and Jakarta.

Subsidiaries such as Rekayasa Industri also contributed 4 cows and 4 goats in Jakarta. Pupuk Indonesia Niaga and Pupuk Indonesia Logistik each donated 1 cow for the Jakarta area.

Cindy emphasized that prior to distribution, all sacrificial animals from Pupuk Indonesia Group were certified to be in good health, in compliance with Islamic requirements for sacrificial offerings, and to ensure the animals provide optimal benefits to recipients.

She also noted that some of the animals were purchased from fostered local livestock farmers. Thus, this moment also serves as an opportunity for Pupuk Indonesia to support its partners, particularly in the livestock sector.

“Alhamdulillah, this is no small number. Pupuk Indonesia is able to share consistently. Going forward, we hope the community continues to support and pray for the continued growth of Pupuk Indonesia Group, so that the benefits we provide to the people can grow even greater,” Cindy concluded.
