Pupuk Indonesia Encourages Takalar Farmers to Redeem and Learn About the New Subsidized Fertilizer Regulations

Pupuk Indonesia Invites Takalar Farmers to Redeem Subsidized Fertilizers and Learn About the New Regulations During the 2025 “Rembuk Tani Dan Tebus Bersama Tahun 2025” Event. Through this program, Pupuk Indonesia invited farmers in Takalar Regency, South Sulawesi, to optimize the absorption of subsidized fertilizers, whose allocation has been increased. The event, held at the Baruga Panrannuangku Hall on Wednesday (June 24, 2025), also served as a platform to socialize the new regulations on subsidized fertilizers, which aim to further simplify the process for farmers.
Pupuk Indonesia organized the forum in collaboration with the Takalar Regency Government and the South Sulawesi branch of the Indonesian Fertilizer Distributors Association (ADPI). The event also served as an opportunity for Pupuk Indonesia to engage directly with farmers and absorb their aspirations and concerns, especially regarding subsidized fertilizers. It was attended by approximately 500 farmers, 62 kiosks, agricultural extension officers, distributors, and other stakeholders in the agriculture sector.
“For us, meeting farmers directly is both a point of pride and part of Pupuk Indonesia's commitment to strengthening distribution even to remote areas. This is not just about redeeming fertilizer today, but about a long-term commitment to supporting national food security,” said Wisnu Ramadhani, General Manager of Regional 4, PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero).
He revealed that in 2025, the government increased the allocation of subsidized fertilizer for Takalar farmers by 26 percent—from around 23,000 tons in 2024 to 29,000 tons this year. As of June 2025, around 9,200 tons have been absorbed, or about 31 percent of the allocation.
Wisnu expressed hope that through this forum, registered farmers in Takalar would make full use of the additional allocation provided by the government, in support of the vision of President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, outlined in the Asta Cita. He also emphasized that this year’s absorption rate would affect future allocations.
“This Rembuk Tani event is a joint effort by Pupuk Indonesia and stakeholders to accelerate the absorption of subsidized fertilizers in the field. We plan to hold similar events in other regencies and cities. We remain committed to supporting farmers in Eastern Indonesia toward a more self-reliant, productive, and sustainable agriculture,” Wisnu affirmed.
During the event, farmers redeemed a total of 70.15 tons of subsidized fertilizer, consisting of 28.98 tons of Urea, 32.56 tons of NPK Phonska, 8.39 tons of Petroganik, and 0.2 tons of NPK for cocoa. This reflects strong enthusiasm from farmers for the integrated redemption program conducted in collaboration with producers, local governments, and distributors.
Wisnu added that the Rembuk Tani also served as a platform for Pupuk Indonesia to disseminate information about the new Minister of Agriculture Regulation (Permentan) No. 15 of 2025, which introduced numerous improvements in the governance of subsidized fertilizer distribution. He encouraged farmers to embrace this transformation to enhance agricultural productivity.
The event was officially opened by the Regent of Takalar, Muhammad Firdaus Daeng Manye. He stated that the event represents a concrete effort by the regional government to achieve food self-sufficiency through more targeted and efficient subsidized fertilizer distribution.
“The government targets farmers to harvest three times a year. Therefore, ensuring adequate fertilizer supply is essential. We must make sure it’s available so productivity is not disrupted,” the Regent remarked briefly.
